Assistant Estimator / Project Mgr.

Then this is the right role for you! W.M. Schultz Construction Inc is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Estimator to assist project managers in daily activities, aide superintendents & foreman to get the job done, and provide estimating support for new bids.

In this role you’ll be responsible for managing RFIs & submittals, scoping work with subcontractors, developing takeoffs and bids, estimating & managing labor force productivity, scheduling, job cost management and more!

The “Right” Person for this job will enthused by doing a different type of project each season. We do water and waste water treatment plants, deep underground pipelines, pump stations, whole bridge replacements – the actual project type can vary as long as the work is complex & demanding! The successful candidate must be motivated self-starter and work well in an organization that is fast paced, professional, and goal oriented.

This role is intended to be a stepping stone into an Estimator  / Project Manager role. It will require fieldwork and/or working from a field office. Travel to job site(s) within a 1-2hr radius of Albany may be required; company vehicle provided.

Master Mechanic-Heavy Equipment

Enjoy working with respectful construction field trades that work for your company so they’re happy to see you pull up?

Then the W.M. Schultz group of companies has the right job for you! We’re seeking an experienced heavy equipment mechanic working in both our Ballston Spa shop and on equipment located at jobsites. We typically work within a 1.5 to 2 hour radius of Albany NY.

Knowledge to safely perform quality maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on various types of heavy construction equipment to include dozers, excavators, skid steers, wheel loaders and various other machinery and attachments is a must.  A CDL-B and active DOT medical card is required. Mechanic should be willing to perform other tasks between assignments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, engines, powertrain and various other systems.
  • Troubleshoot technology systems on machines
  • Use computer diagnostic tooling in repairing tractors.
  • Utilize torch and welder for basic skills for cutting, brazing, and welding during disassembly or assembly processes.
  • Complete all electronic data entry and paperwork including service reports, time entry, warranty tickets and inspections.
  • Wear all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain a clean mechanic’s truck and work area
  • Report safety issues and damage
  • Proper security of equipment

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
  • CDL B license with clean abstract is required.
  • Ability to work independently, safely, have strong organization skills and have a strong work ethic.

Administrative Assistant
