As a result of the flooding from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, bridges on Route 73 in the Rochester, VT area were left with structural deficiencies, in some cases temporary replacements were being utilized.   Schultz was chosen by Vermont Agency of Transportation to replace multiple bridges using accelerated construction techniques.  The bridges were replaced in a 56 hour, 84 hour, and 14-day shutdown period; complete and open to the public ahead of schedule.  The bridge construction required precast bridge components for both substructure and superstructure components and required extensive planning to ensure the execution of the project was performed successfully.
